Just a bit about January

Here is a glimpse at what we've been up to this month!

In the morning we are starting to do Math Menu.  We get to choose a station that will help us practice various skills.  Some of the skills include writing numbers, graphing different amounts, and combining numbers within five.  Math Menu has also allowed us to play games that help us practice certain social skills as well, such as partner work which includes turn taking.

During our outside time we got to explore on the playground as the cold winter weather took hold.  And while we weren't having official Forest Fridays, we still went out for adventures on those days!  We got to hike and play out at our home base.

We were lucky enough to have VINS come and do a lesson for us in our classroom.  We learned about animals in winter and how they behave.  Some hibernate while others stay awake!  We were able to do an experiment to show how some animals stay warm because of their body composition.

There were several celebrations that we were able to have this month because we earned 100 "alphabits".  We are working hard to be kind, compassionate, and courteous in the classroom!
