Forest Friday, December 13th

The day that we made letters in the woods!

Unfortunately one of our Kindness Elves was touched yesterday and lost its magic over the night. We came up with ideas of how we could be kind so that we could make Poppy feel better!  Instead of writing specifically about our forest plans we wrote about how to be kind.
"I will sing good at the concert."
"Draw a picture for Penny." (Our other kindness elf)
"I will make a card."
"I will sing my best."

We're hoping that Poppy will feel better for next week!

Our walk up to our home base was a little slick in spots. We found a lot of ice!

Before playtime we built some uppercase letters with sticks.  We practiced making the letters and remembering the sounds that they make.

During playtime we found more ice! Some of us built structures and others played pretend games.

For snack we had tater tots! We were able to choose between three toppings: sour cream, ketchup, and slightly spicy green sauce. Some of us had all three!

We ended our forest day with sit spots. We were all so quiet and each of us remembered where our spots were! Each of us relaxed on our backs and looked up at the trees above us. It was a very calming way to end our time outside.
