Forest Friday, November 15th

The day that we found mud!

"I hope to see a rainbow."
"I hope to see the sun."
"I hope to see a tree."

We are working on making detailed pictures for our forest journals.  We are also working on stretching out words to hear sounds and using our "Word Garden" to write high frequency words that we have learned.

We grouped around the fire as soon as we got to our home base. We noticed that there is more snow than last week.  Now that it is getting colder, we appreciate the warmth of the fire more than ever before!

For snack we had popcorn and hot apple cider because each class earned 100 "alphabits" in the classroom! It was a tasty treat that kept our hands and bodies warm.

During play time we explored the snow.  The ground was pretty hard and frozen but that didn't stop us from digging.  By the end of our time outside some of us discovered some mud under the snow and tried a little bit of sliding.  We discovered that it was fun but very messy!
