Flying Through February

Here is a glimpse at what we've been up to in February!

Every Wednesday we are lucky to have Mrs. Marshall, our school's Occupational Therapist, join us in the classroom.  She has been helping us develop our fine motor skills so that we can improve our finger strength and handwriting.  We sometimes play games and sometimes practice our letters.

When we return from reading groups we have been doing independent literacy centers.  These give us opportunities to practice creating sentences, recognize/write sight words, and put together short consonant-vowel-consonant words.

Our 100th day of school came and went so quickly!  We celebrated with many counting activities.  We put together a 100 piece fruit loop necklace and had a 100 piece snack.  The day was full of fun and Miss Wetzel's Grandma (who is 100 years old) was our guest teacher!

We also celebrated Valentine's Day as a class.  We made friendship necklaces, swapped Valentine cards, and decorated some tasty cupcakes.  It was a day full of lovely activities!
