Forest Friday, October 11th

The day that we tried playtime offerings!

Here is a look at some of our journals that we worked on in the morning before heading outside.

"I hope to see my rock."

"I hope to see a bunny."

"I hope to see an eagle."

Right away in the morning Mr. Sadowski showed us all of the ingredients that we would be using to make Stone Soup. We were looking forward to helping in the forest!

Earlier in the week we found rocks that we really liked outside and painted them! Our plan was to put them in our sit spots. We're hoping that the painted rocks will remind us where our sit spots are each week.

We added something new into our schedule today! Four playtime offerings were available for us to choose between. We could visit two of the offerings. In one offering Mrs. Bergeron's brother was visiting and showed us some neat stones and rocks that he is studying in college. In another offering we could help Mr. Sadowski make the Stone Soup. The third offering was led by Mrs. Luca and we collected colorful leaves to make a leafy, fall crown. In the fourth offering with Miss Wetzel we collected leaves to do leaf rubbings. We used white crayons for the rubbings and then watercolor painted the paper to see the parts of the leaves.

When we came back inside we had buddy time with third graders. They brought picture books and read to us while we relaxed in the classroom.
