Forest Friday, September 27th

The day that we practiced how to play with sticks!

"I hope to see a ladybug."
"I hope to see a bird."

We wrote our forest journals for the morning and helped Miss Wetzel write the end of our sentences. By listening for sounds in the words we were able to write some letters.

During sit spots we were able to relax. It was very quiet and we noticed many things with our five senses. Some of us smelled the fresh air, felt wet, slippery leaves, saw colorful leaves, and heard birds.

Several of us helped to make snack today. Using the apples that we picked on our field trip to Riverview Farm, we made a yummy apple crisp over the fire. To help, we cut the apples.

Most of us thought it was a very tasty snack!

While we were exploring during play time we found many things that we didn't see last week. There were furry, funny caterpillars crawling around. There were also a lot of mushrooms and colorful leaves.

During play time we were practicing how to play safely with sticks. Some of us chose to just relax. We played on a seesaw and scrambled around on the slippery forest ground after getting some good rain.

Before we headed inside we went on a little hike beyond our home base. We're hoping to venture out a little further next time! It was a great fall forest Friday.
