Forest Friday, September 20th

The day that a bear ate our snack!

Before heading outside we wrote a forest journal entry about what we hoped to see or do in the forest for the day. Here are what some of us wrote about!

We went out to collect our snack in the garden only to find that it had already been taken! The stalks of corn were trampled and many of the cobs were taken overnight. Mr. Sadowski wondered if something very large had taken them. Maybe even a bear! Regardless, we were able to gather some corn from the garden for snack.

We are currently learning about our five senses in science. We made fox and owl masks when we were learning about our sense of sight. In our sit spots we used masks to help us focus on what we were seeing around us.

During play time some of us found sticks that looked like fishing poles. Here we are pretending to fish in our pretend pond.

The corn was cooked over the fire with the husks on for snack. We added some butter and salt and ate it up. Even the teachers loved it!

All of our masks made it through the day and we loved bringing them outside with us today.
