Forest Friday, March 8th

"I hope to have a camp fire." -Adventurous American Robin
"I hope to see grass." -Big-Hearted Beaver
"I hope to see the sun." -Expert Eastern Box Turtle

Many of us tried to write our forest journal page independently today. We are remembering to write our sight words and to stretch out words to hear sounds. It seems like a lot of us in KW are excited to see signs of spring!

Our class got to try snow shoes for our hike up to our home base. We packed down the trail for KR and next week they will do the same for us.

During sit spot time we were silent.  The sun was shining and we could see and hear the birds.  We didn't mind sitting for a while because it wasn't too cold.

We were glad to have the fire to keep warm and we enjoyed looking at it while we shared what we noticed in our sit spots.

Many of us chose to slide and run during play time but some of us helped each other to make slides for balls in the snow. We had three different balls that we rolled down various slides and we tested to see which balls went down more quickly.

For snack we ate grilled cheese that was cooked over the fire. It was warm and delicious. We also got a little bit of hot chocolate to keep warm while we played.
